Listen To DJ Earworm’s Epic Mashup, ‘United State Of Pop 2012 (Shine Brighter)’

Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" is featured on DJ Earworm's end-of-year jam.

If you're a pop music obsessive (which hopefully you are, otherwise what are you doing here?), there's nothing better than DJ Earworm's celebrated "United State of Pop" series. (Well, maybe except for MTV News' comprehensive Best Songs Of 2012 list, but that's about it.)  In case you've been M.I.A. for the past few years, DJ Earworm's "United State of Pop" is a truly epic mashup of the year's most popular songs, as seen on Billboard's weekly Hot 100 charts. Or, in other words, DJ Earworm is some sort of genius freak capable of making 80 billion different hit songs come together as one. And it's generally the best song you've ever heard. (Clearly, we are Earworm Stans.)

Listen to DJ Earworm's "United State of Pop 2012 (Shine Brighter)" after the jump.

Kicking off this year's "United State" with Ke$ha's "Die Young" track, Taylor Swift's signature "ooh ooh ooh" from "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" follows within the first five seconds, then "aw yeah yeah yeah" from Bruno Mars' "Locked Out Of Heaven," and the quirky intro riff from Maroon 5's "One More Night." As we move forward, we hear snippets of The Wanted's "Glad You Came," Nicki Minaj's "Starships," Adele's "Set Fire To The Rain," and literally so many more. It's a sugary, twinkling, magical concoction that serves as a sparkling retrospective for the 2012 pop music landscape. But we promise you'll definitely still be listening to it in 2013.
