Listen To Kelly Clarkson’s Dallas Cowboys Anthem, ‘Get Up’

Kelly Clarkson wrote a song for her favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Kelly Clarkson's a Texas girl at heart, which is why she probably had no trouble penning an original anthem for her favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys. Aptly titled, "Get Up (A Cowboys Anthem)," Kelly's song is part of Pepsi NFL Anthems, which called upon seven pop acts -- Lenny Kravitz, Aerosmith, Travie McCoy, and Kid Rock (to name a few) -- to write original tunes for their favorite teams.

It may have been recorded for a football team, but Kelly's Dallas Cowboy anthem is a sugary-sweet, pulsating pop jam that reminds us of Kel's "Since U Been Gone" days (and we would totally listen to it even if it weren't a football anthem. Because not everybody cares about football -- you know we mostly hit up Super Bowl parties for the snacks). In the classic "Kelly" tone we've come to love, the "Catch My Breath" singer chants about the strength of her hometown: "It doesn't matter what you say/ We're growing stronger each and every day/ It doesn't matter how we do it/ We came, we saw, we conquered what you couldn't." (Anyone else kinda think this sounds like an excerpt from a camp color war song? Anyone?) Kelly closes with a triumphant refrain of "I wanna be a cowboy, baby!" And even though I'm a born and raised New Yorker (#GIANTS4LYFE) I'd go cowboy for a day if Kelly asked me to. Just sayin'.
