Here's all you need to make it in this world: Put out a hit song, then have two VERY FAMOUS people cover said song in the span of, like, 10 days. That said, it's probably safe to say that Lorde, the 16-year-old singer from New Zealand, has definitely made it. Just a few days ago, Selena Gomez covered  Lorde's "Royals" on her "Stars Dance" Tour, and now The Weeknd , the Canadian R&B crooner up for the Artist To Watch VMA, has just put a lush, orchestral spin on Lorde's smash.

While The Weeknd's interpretation doesn't stray too far from the "Tennis Court" singer's hazy, swirling, and vaguely delirious original, Abel Tesfaye's version is a colorful interpretation with roots in R&B and and slow, dramatic, I-just-wanna-dance production. It's definitely the best "Royals" cover we've heard so far, but if anything could be better, we kinda like the idea of Ariana Grande putting a Mariah Carey-esque spin out there. Just an idea!
