Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King’s 20th Anniversary Re-Release Adds Even More Dates

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is returning to theaters this week to celebrate the fantasy film's 20th anniversary, and its re-release period has now been extended.

The movie was originally set to come back on April 13 and April 19, but due to strong demand, six more dates have been added to the calendar. The movie will now play April 13-20 in the US. It's also been confirmed that series star Elijah Wood, who played Frodo, will appear in a video message before the screenings to discuss the "lasting impact" of the films (via Collider).

What's more, the re-release will include "exclusive coverage" of the new Lord of the Rings tabletop game featuring a "celebrity panel" helping to raise awareness for the Extra Life For Kids charity. This is being done in partnership with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
