@MEGAContrux Christmas to You! @Mega Closes in on A Decade of #Halo Sets #Ad

The combination of MEGA, which pre-dates the Mattel acquisition of MEGA®. HALO™ is MEGA®’s longest running video game license and in those 8 years they have been able to produce a significant amount of sets tying into the long running video game franchise. MEGA®’s dedication to this franchise moves beyond just a cool collection and into world building!

We’ve seen several other toy companies try their hands at HALO™ toys in the past, but NO ONE could touch the world building that is possible through the Mega Construx™ HALO™ sets.  Everything is possible with MEGA®, from Spartans, to Covenant and Brutes, endless vehicles and even environments. MEGA® has touched every corner of the HALO™ universe.  Much like their Call of Duty sets, this is the perfect marriage of license and materials. Refreshingly, MEGA® is not chained to a certain brick design element and therefore are unafraid to develop new parts to fit whatever sets or worlds they are creating leading to more accurate and realistic sets.

There are a wide variety of set sizes and price points available to fans, everything from single carded mini-figures all the way up to large vehicles, set pieces and bosses. So no matter your budget,  there is a MEGA® HALO™ set available in your price range in stores now.

In this feature we are going to look at three recent Mega Construx™ HALO™ sets:

First up is the Incinerator Cyclops – This set is a mech suit for the minifigures, so you know it’s got to be awesome. The set comes with a UNSC Flame Marine that fits inside the mech suit. The minifigure has a stand and comes with a hefty flame-thrower that is attached to a tank on his back.  The mech suit has a full range of articulation, as well as having its own flamethrower attached to a much larger tank on the mech’s back. This set is 162 pieces and is recommended for ages 8+.

Next, we have the CTF Artic Warthog.  Warthogs are some of the most iconic vehicles in the HALO™ universe.  This set includes three minifigures: the Spartan Mark VI (Gen I), Spartan Rogue and the Spartan Recon. The Warthog holds all three figures, comes with rubber tires, a mounted roof cannon and a working wench. The figures also have a strong personal arsenal that includes: an SMG, shotgun, magnums and both plasma and frag grenades. Each figure has a stand, and the set includes an ammo box and a banner flag.  This set is 311 pieces and is recommended for builders 8+.

Finally, we take a look at the UNSC Wolverine Charge Vehicle. This set is BIG and took me over an hour to complete.  The set comes with three minifigures: UNSC Flame Trooper, UNSC Marine and a banished Brute. They are armed with an assault rifle, a flame thrower and the brute shot.  But, the real fire power comes from the Wolverine Charge itself which brandishes mounted duel missile batteries. Each of these batteries can launch up to six missiles and is swivel mounted to help stop the Brute hoard.  The cockpit opens and will fit one of the UNSC minifigures.  This set is a whopping 759 pieces and is recommended for builders 8+.

Each of these sets are complex and satisfying builds that are indicative of the fun complexity of the rest of the Mega Construx™ HALO™ line. You have to remain engaged and pay close attention to the easy to follow instructions or you will have problems.  These sets are like putting together a really fun and satisfying puzzle, but at the end,you can play with it!
