An exclusive new trailer for Suicide Squad just premiered at the MTV Movie Awards, and it’s incredibly vexing, as Harley Quinn would say, to be so close and yet so far away from the film’s August 5 release.

The brand-new footage reveals why and how this band of bad guys got together. Led by lethal sharpshooter Deadshot (Will Smith) and the delightfully unhinged Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), this squad of villains is assembled by the government to form a black ops task force that has very little chance of survival. However, the chance of them going balls-to-the-wall insane on every mission is incredibly high.
