New On Prime Video In October 2022: The Peripheral, Downton Abbey: A New Era

Prime Video is getting even bigger in October, with more new movies and TV shows to watch--including original content. October means Halloween, Hulu is of course getting lots of horror picks, although there is also some nice variety with other picks also deserving of your attention.

The Peripheral, an upcoming sci-fi streaming series based on the 2014 William Gibson book of the same name, will be coming to Amazon Prime Video on October 21. Co-created by author and screenwriter Scott Smith (Siberia, The Burnt Orange Heresy), the show is also executive produced by Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy--which gives further reasons to be enthused and curious about the series. In The Peripheral, Chloë Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass) stars as Flynne Fisher, a woman trying to hold together the pieces of her broken family in a forgotten corner of tomorrow's America--she also earns "much-needed extra money playing VR games for rich people" but quickly learns the virtual world she's visiting is real, and being exploited by someone in London from 70 years in the future.
