Big Sean's Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica-assisted "Control (HOF)" is causing quite a stir.

Last night, the rap world and Twitterverse spontaneously combusted. And no, it's not because Kanye and Jay posted another bromance picture. Instead, Hot 97's Funkmaster Flex premiered Big Sean's No I.D.-produced cut "Control (HOF)." And while we initially would've expected "Fire" -- Big Sean's blazing hot Miley Cyrus collabo -- to be the focus of attention, now we're all about "Control (HOF)," a track that, due to some pesky clearance issues, won't appear on Big Sean's forthcoming album, Hall Of Fame. #MusicIndustryProblems

A whopping seven-minute record that features strong offerings from Big Sean and Jay, it's MTV News' "Hottest MC" of 2012" that's really got everyone talking. Kendrick's verse comes in the middle of the record, and as he simultaneously declares himself the very best ("Makaveli's offspring/ I'm the king of New York/ King of the coast"), he tries to put basically every other rapper in the game in their place: "And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T, Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron, Tyler, Mac Miller/ I got love for you all, but I'm tryin' murder you.../ Tryin' to make sure your core fans never heard of you.../ They don’t wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you." BOLD! COLD!

Naturally, Kendrick's callout sparked a ton of controversy on Twitter, and basically every rapper chimed in with something to say. That said, we can't deny that Kendrick has stepped his game up, so we guess the only thing left to say is, "The ball is in your court, every other rapper ever!"
