New Song: Demi Lovato, ‘Heart Attack’

We're STILL PALPITATING over Demi Lovato's new jam: "Heart Attack."

'Sup, Lovatics! How impressed are you by your girl right now? Sure, Demi Lovato may only have one fully functioning leg (feel better soon, bb!), but that has NOT prevented her from dominating at the recording studio, killing the 2013 Brit Awards after party scene (with a CANE, no less!), and now, finally unleashing her brand-new, full-fledged banger, "Heart Attack" (to appear on her upcoming 2013 album).

Perhaps you already knew that Demi's forthcoming "Heart Attack" video would be more fashion-focused, but after listening to her new single in full, we can fully confirm that Demi's new single is totally "up in the cluurrrrb"-focused. Taking a step back from her earlier work (think: organic, instrumental records like "Skyscraper" and even "Give Your Heart A Break"), "Heart Attack" is full of sugary sweet, Top 40, club banger-pop goodness. Set to a synth-heavy, vocal effect-laden track (p.s. normally we're purists, but today we've decided it's OK for Demi to use vocal effects -- we know she can wail IRL!), Demi sings about how afraid she is of falling in love: "So I'm putting my defenses up/ 'Cause I don't wanna fall in love/ If I ever did that, I think I'd have a heart attack." We totally identify with that, Dem, but you know what we think? Eff the fear and be open to love! Then chant a rousing chorus of "live and let love!" Or at least that's what our therapist tells us every week.
