New Song: Drake, ‘5AM In Toronto’

Drake (allegedly) addresses beef with Chris Brown in his new track, "5AM In Toronto."

We hadn't even finished obsessing over Drake's unofficial comeback track, "Started From The Bottom," when we caught wind of another new Drake single this morning (Drizzy, how did you know?!). In a blog post on October's Very Own, the Canadian MC introduced the fiery and intimate "5AM In Toronto," slated as the next single on his upcoming third album. Oh, and just a warning: This new Drake sandwich comes with a lot of beef.

Produced by Boi-1DA and Vinylz, Drake's new track sounds like one of his most personal to date. Spitting verses about the pitfalls of the music industry and his haterz -- Chris Brown in particular -- Drake allegedly references his and Chris' brawl ("Bad press during the summer over allegations") and the supposed love triangle between Chris, himself, and Rihanna ("Where you think she at when she ain't with ya?"). Drake then talks about his place in the hip-hop hierarchy and rhymes over a sparse yet melody-driven track: "You underestimated greatly/ Most No. 1's ever, how long did it really take me?/ ...F*** your list/ Everything's looking gorgeous/ Without me, rap is just a bunch of orphans." Pardon us, but did someone say list? Might someone be a little miffed about his No. 5 on MTV’s annual Hottest MC In The Game list? A sentiment shared by our pal Kanye West, who was listed at No. 7? (Major DRAMZ on the list front!)

Reminder: Find out who the No. 1 rapper is when the full Hottest MC In The Game list is revealed tonight on "Hottest MCs in the Game VIII" at 10 p.m. ET on MTV Jams.
