New Song: Drake & Dawn Richard, ‘Where Were You’

Drake and the former Diddy-Dirty Money singer team up on the unreleased duet, "Where Were You."

Drake is an AMAZING solo artist -- we would never knock Drizzy there. But it's undeniable that some of his most memorable smashes have featured a lady on the track -- just look at the VMA nom'd "Take Care" with Rihanna, on "What's My Name" with Rih Rih again, and his never-ending work with Nicki Minaj like on "Moment 4 Life." So, we were ECSTATIC to hear about the recently uncovered track featuring Drake with Diddy-Dirty Money-alum Dawn Richard.

On the slow and sultry track, Drake and Dawn trade verses about former flames missing one another. "Where did the other half of my heart go?/ Why am I in bed alone?" Drizzy ponders. (Your guess is as good as ours, dude. We can't see any girls leaving you, to be honest.) Plus the song's history is impressive: "Where Were You" actually dates back to 2010 when producer Colin Munroe cooked up the track for Drake's major label debut, Thank Me Later. "Where Were You" didn't make the final cut, but Munroe felt it was so good, he decided to release his own mixtape version just this month. And now we can listen to Drake and Dawn Richard whenever we like. And for that, we send MAJOR thanks.
