New Song: Janelle Monae Featuring Miguel, ‘Primetime’

Janelle Monae and Miguel unite for "Primetime"

Janelle Monáe and Miguel get steamy in "Primetime."

Even if Janelle Monáe and Miguel teamed up for a duet and we never heard it, we'd still know that anything the duo put out would sound OFF-the-charts fantastic. Because, like, isn't there a math equation that says "one buttery voice + another buttery voice = R&B/soul perfection"? (Whatever, they should just start teaching that in AP Algebra.) Lucky for us, we do get to listen to "Primetime," Janelle and Miguel's collabo (points that their names rhyme!), which is slated to appear on Janelle's forthcoming The Electric Lady disc, dropping Sept. 10.

Set to a steamy, sultry, sensual track, the "Dance Apocalyptic" singer opens the record by cooing: "When you're down, and it's hard/ And you feel like you're giving your all/ Baby, our love will always keep it real and true/ Cause, baby it's a prime time for our love." #GET IT!!

Later, things really get even hotter when Miguel and Janelle sing the song's hook in unison. Teaming up on a two-part harmony, "Primetime" is practically spilling over with a lush chorus of "oohs" and "ahhs" that only add to the track's color. Yeah, don't be surprised if there's a sudden spike in the population's birth rate approximately nine-ish months from now.
