Justin Bieber goes acoustic in "Yellow Raincoat."

Did you love getting down in the clurb to Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend"? How about the Nicki Minaj-assisted "Beauty And A Beat"? What about swaying side to side to some old-school "U Smile"? Pretty standard Bieber, right? Well, we think it's safe to say that Justin's come a long way since those hair-swooped, hoodied days, and even the more timely drop-crotch pants days -- because it sounds to us like he's quickly morphing into a brooding older adolescent with a lot of #feelings, at least judging by his latest acoustic jam, "Yellow Raincoat."

Slated to appear on Justin's upcoming Believe Acoustic album (out Jan. 29!), "Yellow Raincoat" is one of a few new stripped-down releases featured on the album, and is a refreshing shift for the pop singer, showcasing his deepest and most mature lyrics to date. Rumored to be written for then-girlfriend Selena Gomez (#SADZ), Justin's voice is thick with vulnerability as he sings about the stresses of fame: "Cause the fame, and the money, and the girls will drive you crazy," before concluding, "Guess I'll put on my raincoat, my yellow raincoat/ Baby it's keeping me fright/ I put on my raincoat, my yellow raincoat/ You know exactly why." Like we said, you don't exactly need a BA in Close Reading to interpret Justin's lyrics, which kinda leaves us feeling even MORE sadz -- 'cause it looks like Selena has officially moved on. Um, Justin? We'd like to formally submit OUR application to be your muse.
