Nicki Minaj and Pharrell offer an assist on Nelly's "Get Like Me."
Can we just call out the fact that there's been a TON of collaborating going on these days? First, Nelly teamed with Florida Georgia Line on their rap/country jam "Cruise (Remix)." Then, Nicki Minaj appeared on Ciara's "I'm Out," not to mention her cameo on Wale's "Clappers" with Juicy J. Finally, Pharrell hooked up (in the musical sense) with T.I. and Robin Thicke on the IMMENSELY successful "Blurred Lines." And now, Nicki AND Pharrell have joined up with Nelly on the bumpin' "Get Like Me," due to appear on Nelly's upcoming M.O. album. It's like pop star / rapper musical chairs! And we're starting to feel a little dizzy...

Set to a sparse and percussive beat (i.e. VERY Pharrell, who produced it), "Get Like Me" is an ode to Nelly's dope-ness, and how everyone tries to steal his shine ("See the whole rap game/ They sounding like me"). Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj echoes Nelly's sentiments: "Get their own speakers and some pros like me/ When I'm at the game, all the pros like me."
Look, we get that it's annoying when people try to steal your "schtick," but imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! So just let it go! And speaking of imitation, Nicki, if you could just point me in the direction of your go-to wig shop, I'd seriously appreciate it.
