New Video: Ariana Grande And Nathan Sykes, ‘Almost Is Never Enough’

Ariana Grande and Nathan Sykes get cozy in their "Almost Is Never Enough" video.

Yeah, this Ariana Grande and Nathan Sykes video for "Almost Is Never Enough" is literally KILLING me right now. And no, it's not because I don't have an IRL musical boyfriend to sing this to, and it's not because I FULLY called that "Almost Is Never Enough" was the modern-day equivalent to Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's "One Sweet Day." Rather, it's because Ariana and The Wanted member are BRILLIANT singers. I mean, the vibrato! The runs! The "platonic" hugging! Where do we even start?!

Watch Ariana Grande and Nathan Sykes' "Almost Is Never Enough" video after the jump.

Slated to appear on both The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones soundtrack and the MTV VMA pre-show performer's forthcoming Yours Truly (out Sept. 3), "Almost Is Never Enough" is a piano-led ballad that sits comfortably in between R&B and pop, as opposed to some of Ariana's breezier offerings like "The Way," "Baby I," and the Big Sean-assisted "Right There."

In the simple video, Ariana and Nathan hit the studio to record their duet (again, holler "One Sweet Day"!). When the two singers aren't busy making puppy eyes at each other (not buying those "we don't have a crush on each other" claims), we're treated to some emotional clips from the forthcoming "The Mortal Instruments" film.

Final thoughts? Although we looove the video's "One Sweet Day" + newfangled "Twilight" "The Mortal Instruments" leanings, we kiiinda would have liked to see more of Ariana and Nathan hugging in "Almost Is Never Enough" and less of them trying to pretend that they wouldn't make an adorable couple. Just trying to be pop star yentes over here, NBD.
