New Video: Drake Featuring Rihanna, ‘Take Care’

Drake and Rihanna are totally SADZ in their new video, 'Take Care.'

Let's be honest for a second: Do you want a music video of Drake and Rihanna to be anything other than Drake and Rihanna brooding at the camera? Of course not! And Drake and Rihanna know that, hence their latest video, "Take Care." Directed by Yoann Lemoine, "Take Care" is about 4 straight minutes of sparse glamor shots of RiRi and rumored former flame Drake looking all sad and ish at the camera, juxtaposed between random images of slo-mo animals and a modern dancer. So to answer your question, yes, it is kind of like Des'ree's "You Gotta Be" + an episode of "Frozen Planet."

"Take Care," off of Drake's latest album of the same name, is his plead to a lady friend to leave her relayshee baggage behind: "Pushing me away so I give her space/ Dealing with a heart that I didn't break/ I'll be there for you, I will care for you/ I keep thinking you just don't know/ Try to run from that, say you're done with that/ On your face, girl, it just don't show." And Rihanna, who's about to showcase her acting chops in the upcoming flick "Battleship," does a really great job playing a jaded, kind of depressed ex. Drake's all like, "You hate being alone, well you ain't the only one." And Ri gives him the cold shoulder over and over, all, "If you let me, here's what I'll do/ I'll take care of you." (No, but seriously, so much of Rihanna's shoulder in this video.)

In all seriousness, the video's stark images mirror the push-and-pull tension of the song, reminding us that sometimes love isn't all you need. Nature, and a relationship, can be a wild beast -- and it's always better narrated by Alec Baldwin ("Frozen Planet" reference).
