New Video: Green Day, ‘Nuclear Family’

Green Day (punk) rock out in their brand-new video for "Nuclear Family."

Pop punk trio Green Day have had a MAJOR year. ::Takes deep breath:: Because where to start? Last week the boys got a little moshy on the 2012 MTV VMA stage during a performance of "Let Yourself Go," and are currently prepping to release their latest studio output (and by "output," we mean TRIO OF ALBUMS). And as if all that weren't enough, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool will kick off their ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! ¡ Tré! Tour in November. ::Exhales:: The hardest-working guys in punk rock?! Yeah, we think so. But before any of the above can take place, the guys have just released a brand-new video for their song "Nuclear Family," the fourth single from "¡Uno!"

Following Green Day's previous releases "Oh Love," "Let Yourself Go," and "Kill The DJ," "Nuclear Family" comments on social issues threatening parents and their kids. "Like a Chinese company conspiracy/ It's the death of a nuclear family staring up at you/ It's looking like another bad comedy/ Just as long as it comes in hi-fidelity for me too," sings Armstrong, who is shown in the minimalist video rocking OUT with Tré and Mike on a soundstage. The raw-seeming footage is an intimate portrait of what the boys must look like while they're practicing for a show, but don't worry -- there's plenty of video with them, say, riding dirt bikes together in the desert. So much Green Day, so little time!

Oh, and Green Day? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me that the Pop Disaster 2.0 reunion tour isn't just a rumor! PLEASE?
