Sadly, my mom has always put the kibosh on my love for hoop earrings the size of my face. But thanks to Nelly Furtado's new record "Big Hoops (Bigger The Better)," I can now tell her to back the eff off -- a rich and talented celeb likes them, too, Mom! Slated to be Furtado's first single off her forthcoming album, The Spirit Indestructible, "Big Hoops" now has a video, and shocker, it's really odd...and totally Nelly.

In the "Big Hoops" video, Nelly looks completely stunning (natch) as she strolls down a city block. But Nelly doesn't wear comfortable sneakers for her walk -- homegirl steps out on a GIANT-ASS PAIR OF STILTS. As she walks gracefully through the city, she breezes by all the plebeians below her who stare up in awe. A few outfit changes later and Nelly's chilling with some professional hula hoopers and doing some form of interpretive dance.

Moral of the story? Nelly's "Big Hoops" video is totally weird and makes no sense. Do we care? No. Because any gal that can look that hot while on stilts deserves our full respect.
