Nicki Minaj loses the pop star panache in her latest video for "Up In Flames."

Barbz, we know that your leader, Nicki Minaj, just dropped a super steamy clip for "High School" with YMCMB boss Lil Wayne, but girl is ALREADY back with another clip -- this time for Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded -- The Re-Up opener "Up In Flames." And if there's any takeaway here, it's that Nicki is 110 percent serious about being the best rapper in the game, male or female. She already admitted to being the best in a recent interview, but now instead of telling us, she's showing us in her no-frills clip.

"Up In Flames" begins with a motorcycle powering down a road, while we jump cut to a hoodie-clad Nicki at home with a companion. While the biker does all kinds of stunts on the pavement, Queen Barbie stunts lyrically in a lavish house. But don't get confused: Nicki's not trying to be fabulous here (although that's physically IMPOSSIBLE) -- she's keeping it minimal by putting her visceral flow on center stage, working in the studio, and writing down rhymes and checking her production -- because a TRUE diva never rests.

So, where are all the fake eyelashes and boob-bearing bathing suits? Well, for one thing, Nicki's described her Re-Up album as a return to her rap roots, which would seem to agree with the clip's stripped-down, academic tone. Sure, Nicki could throw on another bathing suit, but she clearly doesn't need to. To borrow from another diva... BOW DOWN.
