Paramore, The Postal Service Release Albums; Miguel Is The Musical Guest on ‘Saturday Night Live’

Welcome to Buzzworthy's "The Week In Pop," where we round up new album releases, talk show musical guests, and TV performances by your favorite pop stars and more (so you don't have to).

This week, Paramore release their fourth album, Paramore! Tune into MTV.com at 5 p.m. ET TODAY to stream Paramore's live performance and interview and catch them on Tuesday's "VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live with Carrie Keagan," and on Thursday's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," where Ke$ha is also a guest. The Postal Service also return after a decade with Give Up – Deluxe 10th Anniversary Edition (watch this LOL-worthy Postal Service singer audition video from Funny Or Die on how the pair got together). Meanwhile, Tyga returns with his third LP, The Knife cut new eerie electro-dance pop, and Kurt Vile gets expansive on his new material. On TV, there's loads o' pop this week, including Jonas Brothers on Tuesday's "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon," and the week caps off with some smooth R&B when Miguel hits the stage as musical guest on "Saturday Night Live."

NEW ALBUM RELEASES

+ ParamoreParamore: Self-titling their new effort is no doubt a good way to mark a new era, redefine who they are, and take new risks. After Josh and Zac Farro's departure in 2010, Paramore is now a trio of singer Hayley Williams, guitarist Taylor York, and bassist Jeremy Davis. Beyond the organizational changes, York has stepped in as a songwriter, which contributes to the album's diverse styles. Here, the band explores new terrain, including three stripped-down "Interludes" featuring Hayley Williams' spunky vocals, a gospel choir on "Ain't It Fun," and doo-wop on "One Of Those Crazy Girls." In fact, "Now" is the only vintage Paramore track within the scope of their new material. Also, check out the poppy "Still Into You" lyric video.

+ The Postal Service, Give Up – Deluxe 10th Anniversary Edition: If you missed The Postal Service the first time around, now's your chance to see them live on tour (your last chance, according to their label, Sub Pop), and to hear their essential electro-pop debut (their only full-length album). The original record, created long distance with mailed packages between Death Cab For Cutie's Ben Gibbard and Dntel's Jimmy Tamborello, is remastered and packaged with 15 bonus tracks, including new songs "Turn Around" and "A Tattered Line Of String." It also features Iron & Wine's take on The Postal Service's "Such Great Heights" and The Shins' cover of "We Will Become Silhouettes."

+ TygaHotel California: For his third effort, the 15-song set boasts star guests collabs with Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Chris Brown, 2 Chainz, and Future, but one particular collab was surprising: Listen to the NSFW "Hit 'Em Up" with Jadakiss, which features lines from 2pac's "Thugs Get Lonely Too," "Thug 4 Life," and "Komradz" spliced to sound like the deceased rap legend and Tyga are trading rhymes. While the song bears the name of 2Pac's 1996 diss track, Tyga told MTV News that it's not a remake."When you're talking about 'Hit 'Em Up' you ain't really dissing nobody, but you lettin' it be known that you don't rock with certain people." Also check out "Molly," his collab with Wiz Khalifa, and Mally Mall.

Check out more new album releases, upcoming TV appearances, and performances after the jump.

+ The KnifeShaking The Habitual: With seven years between albums, Swedish siblings Karin Dreijer Andersson and Olaf Dreijer seem to make up for lost time with an epic 98-minute, 12 song-album return that includes a 19-minute-plus (!!) song drone ("Old Dreams Waiting To Be Realized"). Also embedded amidst the darker dirges, as well as political and environmental themes of the "Heartbeats" creators' new material are dance hooks by way of eerie, uneasy forays. This is prominent on the primal pop of "Without You My Life Would Be Boring," and "Raging Lung." Also, check out the short film for the anxious, throbbing dance tune "Full Of Fire," and watch the video for the icy, propulsive "A Tooth For An Eye."

+ Kurt VileWakin On A Pretty Daze: For his fifth album, the Philly-based artist told MTV Hive he wanted to expand on the acoustic and electric guitar mix he explored on his previous effort, Smoke Ring For My Halo. "All of these elements that I had been into, like electricity, effects and synthesizers, that kind of epic making things of epic proportion. I wanted to morph them all, blend them all together into a living breathing organism," he explained. He stretches out for the pretty, sprawling "Wakin On A Pretty Day" and the hypnotic "Goldtone," and also check out the grooving "Snowflakes Are Dancing" and "Never Run Away" for more tightly constructed indie rock.
