Prepare To WEEP Over Jewel And Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Foolish Games’ Duet

Listen to Jewel and Kelly Clarkson's "Foolish Games" duet.

Do not listen to Kelly Clarkson and Jewel's "Foolish Games" duet without  a giant boxes of tissues.

Remember how you cried the first time you listened to Jewel's debut album, Pieces of You, all the way back in 1995? And remember how when after you heard "Foolish Games" it became your go-to summer camp talent show song? And also how your love for Jewel continued all the way though high school, so much so that her "Hands" chorus was actually your senior yearbook quote? What's that? You don't remember? That was only me? Fine, well then I guess you won't appreciate Jewel's stunning reinterpretation of "Foolish Games" featuring Kelly Clarkson as much as I WILL! Your loss.

Slated to appear on Jewel's forthcoming Greatest Hits disc, "Foolish Games" circa 2013 does a masterful job of maintaining the original's mournful, melancholy, sit-in-your-room-and-cry feeling, but this time, Kelly Clarkson's got a starring role with her no-BS/"Behind These Hazel Eyes" vibes. Set to the same haunting piano melody, Jewel opens the track , followed by Kelly chiming in on the first chorus in a powerful, lush two-part harmony. Kelly nails her portion of the second verse, and by the time you get to final chorus, the song becomes a bona fide power ballad! Seriously, is it weird that I kinda can't wait to watch an entirely new generation of high schoolers weep to this record? And then tweet about it? Look out for Jewel's Greatest Hits when it drops Feb. 5.
