PUBG Adds 80,000 New Players Every Day

Krafton, the company that owns and operates PUBG, has released its latest earnings report. In addition to financial figures, the report shines a light on how well the game is performing these days.

Krafton said PUBG for console and PC, which just recently celebrated its fifth anniversary, is growing steadily with more than 80,000 new players every day since the game switched to a free-to-play business model in January 2022. Krafton didn't say how many players might be leaving PUBG every day, however, nor did it provide any details on active players. Whatever the case, average revenue per user saw an uptick as well, rising 20% compared to last quarter. Specific revenue figures, however, were not disclosed.

PUBG Mobile is doing big business, too, contributing to Krafton's overall mobile revenue reaching $550.7 million during the first half of the year. Krafton's newer mobile game, New State Mobile, saw gains, too, with total play time and "play frequency" increasing during the latest quarter.
