Ummmm, not sure if Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop" was ever meant to be a slowed-down ballad, and we're not sure if Miley would ever stop twerking for even a second to find out, but we ARE glad that we can count on vaguely controversial YouTube star and "Friday" singer Rebecca Black to add it to her growing cover song repertoire. Yep, shortly after releasing an unexpectedly lovely cover of Rihanna's "Stay," now Rebecca Black's on to covering Miley's "We Can't Stop" twerk anthem. But we're not completely out of the woods just yet -- she released it last... Friday. #OldHabitsDiehard.

Tackling "We Can't Stop" with fellow singer Jon D, Rebecca might be singing about being "turnt up," but her ultra-chill, acoustic rendition takes a few steps back from Miley's ode to staying up all night at da club with various drugs. Not only did Rebecca switch up the lyrics to make "We Can't Stop" to make it a TAD more G-rated ("To my home girls here living it up / Feelin' alive and are in love" and "Everyone actin' like they know you / So fake, actin' like they so cool"), but the stripped-down clip places a special focus on Rebecca's vastly improved singing chops and gentle harmonies.

Now, "Friday" might be a difficult thing to forget (and the internet NEVER forgets), but could it be that Rebecca's vocal lessons are REALLY paying off? Only time will tell, but at this rate, we're positive Rebecca's gonna have the last laugh on her forthcoming debut album.
