Rez creator to teach at Japanese university

Tetsuya Mizuguchi joins Keio University Graduate School of Media Design as project professor.

Students at one Japanese university could have Rez creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi as a teacher. The designer behind Lumines, Child of Eden, and Sega Rally Championship has been appointed as project professor at Keio University Graduate School of Media Design (KMD) in Tokyo, Japan.

According to an announcement from the school, Mizuguchi will continue to produce games while at KMD, and "further expand his expertise in the field of media design and innovative content production."

Last month, Q Entertainment studio director Nobuhiko Shimizu confirmed that Mizuguchi was no longer making games at the company, instead acting as a studio spokesperson. Shimizu explained that Mizuguchi at the time was involving himself with academic work.
