Selena Gomez Goes Gangster In The Official ‘Spring Breakers’ Trailer (VIDEO)

Selena Gomez in the first official trailer for "Spring Breakers".

Selena Gomez craves a life of crime in the official "Spring Breakers" trailer.

Not sure if you noticed, but we're kind of in the dead of winter here -- that is to say, we're still turning up the heat in our apartments and bundling up in all manner of scarves, hats, and tights. But in only a matter of months we'll be basking in swimming pools, hot sun, bikinis, armed robbery... wait, probably not that last one. That is, of course, unless you're Selena Gomez in "Spring Breakers." The official trailer for the highly-anticipated film dropped today, and we noticed a few things that you may want to pay attention to... mainly that Selena is OUT OF CONTROL in this film. Her little entourage should probably look away for this one.

In the trailer, we see Selena, along with Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine as college students --sorry -- BORED college students (and they haven't even had a quarter-life crisis yet!) who simply can't spend another spring break at school. Translation: They want a "proper" spring break. But where are they going to get the cash to finance said spring break? To fix the situation, Selena and her crew turn to crime (this is between partying, legally and illegally, BTW).

Welp, turns out they aren't exactly pros at the crime game because they get caught pretty easily, but are bailed out by none other than James Franco (who very closely resembles rapper Riff Raff) and Gucci Mane. From then on, Sel and the gang pretty much go FULL-ON gangster with ski masks, heavy firearms, and piles of cash, hoping to blend in among the thousands of spring break (whooo!) partygoers (oh, and there's a tipsy sing-along of Britney Spears' "...Baby One More Time"). It's a pretty bold acting choice for Selena, but after her split from Justin Bieber, she's CLEARLY trying new things. Live your life, bb. Just leave that persona on set; we don't want any trouble for you.
