Sigourney Weaver In Talks For The Next Star Wars Movie

Through the first three seasons of The Mandalorian, series creator Jon Favreau cast a number of stars from the '80s to make recurring and guest appearances on the show including Carl Weathers, Nick Nolte, Clancy Brown, Christopher Lloyd, and Michael Biehn. Now, in Favreau's upcoming movie, The Mandalorian and Grogu, Biehn's Aliens castmate, Sigourney Weaver, may be the next '80s icon to enter the Star Wars universe.

Via The Hollywood Reporter, Weaver is in negotiations to join the cast of The Mandalorian and Grogu in a currently unrevealed role. Weaver had her first breakout part in 1979 when she played Ellen Ripley for the first time in Ridley Scott's Alien. Weaver returned for the next three Alien sequels, including James Cameron's seminal sci-fi action flick, Aliens.

Outside of that franchise, Weaver is best known for appearing as Dana Barrett in three of the Ghostbusters films, as well as her roles in Gorillas in the Mist and Working Girl, both of which led to Oscar nominations. Weaver's genre credits include Galaxy Quest, James Cameron's Avatar movies, The Cabin in the Woods, and Marvel's The Defenders.
