Star Citizen Hits $59 Million

Star Citizen, the upcoming PC space sim from Wing Commander creator Chris Roberts, has added another million to its continually growing crowdfunding campaign. The project reached $59 million today, which is up from the $58 million milestone achieved fewer than two weeks ago.

The game reached $59 million just minutes ago. Roberts typically writes a blog post to talk about the latest funding accomplishment and what it means for developer Cloud Imperium Games, though such a post has not been published yet.

Star Citizen, which started on Kickstarter before continuing to accept pledges through its own website, is the top crowdfunded project of any kind of all-time. And it continues to grow.

The developers behind Star Citizen's FPS module, called Arena Commander, recently shed some enticing details about it. You can read more about those details here.
