Story-Driven PC RTS Ancient Space Announced, Voiced By Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica Actors

Hearts of Iron and Magicka publisher Paradox Interactive today announced Ancient Space, an upcoming story-driven RTS launching this fall on PC and Mac. Developed by Creative Forge Games, Ancient Space is a single-player game where you'll play as a commander of a space fleet.

More specifically, you're tasked with leading a scientific mission to the edge of the universe, and beyond into an area known as The Black Zone. Paradox says the story for Ancient Space will be "rich and compelling." And to help boost believability, the publisher has recruited Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica actors, among others, to voice characters in the game (see a full list below).

Regarding gameplay, Ancient Space will let you build, maintain, upgrade, and command numerous ships through tactical battles and missions. You'll square off against aliens, pirates, and "the unknown," Paradox says. Unfortunately, that's all Paradox is saying about the game, but you can watch a teaser trailer above to see what the game looks like in action.

Actors working on Ancient Space:

  • John Billingsley (Star Trek: Enterprise, True Blood)
  • Aaron Douglas (Battlestar Galactica)
  • Ron Glass (Firefly)
  • Richard Gunn (Dark Angel)
  • Dina Meyer (Starship Troopers, Star Trek: Nemesis, Saw)
  • Dwight Schultz (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager)
