Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Where To Find All The Badges

Super Mario Bros. Wonder changes up the classic 2D platformer formula in all kinds of ways. One of the most significant is the addition of badges, changeable pieces of equipment that can radically change gameplay in various ways. Some badges will make stages easier, while others will make them even harder, or just augment your playstyle with something to suit your personal preference. The game is bursting with badges, but you can only equip one at a time.

Action Badges are primarily earned through Badge Challenges, short stages that test your abilities with that badge before allowing you to equip it freely in other stages. Each Badge Challenge stage comes in two varities: the first stage is a simple challenge to earn the badge, and the second is a tougher challenge to show mastery of it. Completing either of the challenges will earn you the badge.

Boost Badges provide passive benefits, like extra opportunities for coins or saving you if you fall into a pit or lava. These are primarily purchased at Poplin Shops throughout the region. While some Boost Badges can be bought at several Poplin Shops, others first appear at specific shops. For the purposes of this guide, we've identified whichever shop is your first opportunity to purchase a badge.

Expert Badges are, like Action Badges, earned through Badge Challenges. These are much tougher than the standard Badge Challenges because Expert Badges tend to be much harder--hence the name, expert. These are meant to be skill-testing.

Read below for where we've found every Badge so far, and check back for further updates as we continue to track down all of them.

Parachute Cap - Badge Challenge (Pipe-Rock Plateau)

The Parachute Cap lets you hold R to extend an oversized hat above your head, which lets you glide down slowly and gain more distance.

Wall-Climb Jump - Badge Challenge (Pipe-Rock Plateau)

As opposed to the general wall-kick which you have access to by default, the Wall-Climb Badge lets you jump straight up vertically from a wall for extra height.

Coin Reward - Poplin Shop (Pipe-Rock Plateau)

If you're looking to earn some extra coins, the Coin Reward badge gives you a little extra currency each time you take down an enemy.

Floating High Jump - Badge Challenge (Fluff-Puff Peaks)

The Floating High Jump badge makes your jumps more, well, floaty. It gives you some more fine aerial control and closely resembles Luigi's traditional flutter-jump.

Spring Feet - Expert Badge Challenge (Fluff-Puff Peaks)

Spring Feet is an Expert badge, and makes you continuously jump. For obvious reasons, this can present a challenge! Not for the faint of heart.

Safety Bounce - Poplin Shop (Fluff-Puff Peaks)

Safety Bounce gives you a one-time rescue when you fall into an instant death trap like lava or spikes, which may just mean the difference between making it to the goal pole or falling short.

Crouching High Jump - Badge Challenge (Shining Falls)

The Crouching High Jump Badge gives you a high vertical leap after you charge it for a short time by crouching.

Timed High Jump - Poplin Shop (Sunbaked Desert)

The Timed High Jump Badge lets you do the triple-jump as established in Super Mario 64, giving you extra height with each jump as long as you start your next jump just as you touch down from the previous one.

Coin Magnet - Poplin Shop (Deep Magma Bog)

Coin Magnet makes it easier to mop up all those coins by sucking them straight towards you. This is especially useful for the occasional coin reward pop-up stages.

Dolphin Kick - Badge Challenge (Petal Isles)

Dolphin Kick finally makes underwater Mario stages easy to navigate by making you much more nimble, able to swim around easily.

Boosting Spin Jump - Badge Challenge (Petal Isles)

The Boosting Spin Jump Badge lets you get a second, shorter burst of jump in the middle of your jump with a brief spin motion.

Add "!" Blocks - Poplin Shop (Petal Isles)

The Add "!" Blocks Badge does just what it says on the tin by adding more blocks to every stage. Those could make the stages less hazardous or even open up new pathways for climbing and jumping.
