SUPER7 AND GRATEFUL DEAD TO CELEBRATE 50 YEARS OF SKULL & ROSES WITH BERTHA REACTION FIGURE

San Francisco, California – April 27, 2021 – Super7 and Grateful Dead, two San Francisco originals, are collaborating on a series of collectible figures, with the first item releasing in June.

The 3.75” scale Bertha ReAction figure is inspired by the cover of the Grateful Dead live album that would become known as Skull & Roses. This debut figure commemorates the 50th anniversary of that landmark album’s release. The skeleton with a crown of roses, affectionately named Bertha, is a classic piece of Grateful Dead imagery. The figure is $18 and will be available on Super7.com and other retail partners on Thursday, June 3 at 9am PT.

Additional Grateful Dead figures can be expected later in 2021.

“Super7 collaborating with the Grateful Dead might seem unexpected,” said Super7 Founder & Owner, Brian Flynn. “We come from different generations, but we share common counterculture ideals that are rooted in the history of our hometown of San Francisco. From the anti-establishment Hippies to the Punks that followed, Super7 and the Dead are both San Francisco originals, one generation before the other, and we are excited to be working with them in unlikely ways.”

ReAction figures celebrate the iconic action figure of our childhood. The unique size and sculpting style was simple while allowing the imagination to go all in on daily adventures. With ReAction figures, Super7 continues the classic action figure style while making the figures we wished we had while growing up.

ABOUT GRATEFUL DEAD
Grateful Dead is a social and musical phenomenon that grew into a genuine American treasure. In 1965, an entire generation was linked together by common ideals, gathering by the hundreds and thousands. This movement created a seamless connection between the band and its fans. As the band toured, Dead Heads would follow. Not because it was a part of popular culture, but because it is a true counterculture that exists to this very day-one that earnestly believes in the value of its beliefs. By 1995, Grateful Dead had attracted the most concert goers in the history of the music business, and today remain one of the all-time leaders in concert ticket sales. Eventually, the caravan evolved into a community with various artists, craftsmen and entrepreneurs supplying a growing demand for merchandise that connected them to the music. Today, the connection is as strong as ever. The band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 1994 and received a Grammy® Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. Their final tally of 2,318 total concerts remains a world record.
