Spider-Man wrapped up his confrontation with Raptor and Kaine in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #610, then heard the news of the bomb in Luke Cage’s heart in NEW AVENGERS #59. Quick-thinking heroes removed the bomb in NEW AVENGERS #60, which Spidey placed in Norman Osborn’s summer house.

Ana Kravinoff hired Deadpool to harass the wall-crawler in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #611 while she kidnapped Spider-Woman, and Electro returned in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #612 to target Dexter Bennett in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #613, and bring the Daily Bugle building down in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #614. Spidey discovered the Sandman occupying an island in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #615, and rescued a young girl there in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #616.

Super villains powered by the Norn Stones sought Spidey and his pals in NEW AVENGERS #61, and the heroes heard news of Norman Osborn’s siege on Asgard in NEW AVENGERS #62. Led by Captain America, they traveled to the scene in SIEGE #2, and the web-slinger joined with Ms. Marvel to stop Venom from devouring fallen soldiers in SIEGE: SPIDER-MAN #1. Back with the Avengers, Spidey battled Osborn’s forces in NEW AVENGERS #63 and teamed with the remaining Asgardians to fight in NEW AVENGERS #64. Iron Man returned in SIEGE #3 to override Osborn’s armor and reveal his insanity for all to see. In SIEGE #4, everyone clashed with the Sentry’s dark persona the Void, and afterward witnessed Osborn’s arrest by authorities, while the remnants of the Siege scenario were wrapped up in NEW AVENGERS: FINALE.

The Rhino turned Spidey’s attention to a new Rhino in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #617, while Mysterio appeared to be working for the Maggia in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #618, causing lots of trouble for our hero in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #619 and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #620. The Black Cat helped the webslinger retrieve a vial of his blood from Mr. Negative in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #621, but sold it to Morbius in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #622.

Electro broke the new Vulture out of prison in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #623, Peter Parker lost his job in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #624, and the Rhino killed the new Rhino when the latter killed the former’s wife in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #625. The Scorpion competed in an arena to become one of the Hood’s gang in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #626, Captain Universe tried to kill Juggernaut in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #627, and when Spidey battled the cosmic crusader in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #628 he learned its host just wanted revenge on Juggernaut in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #629.

Spider-Man joined the brand-new group of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in AVENGERS #1, and when Kang subsequently arrived to warn the team of a problem with time, Tony Stark and the others determined the truth of it in AVENGERS #2. After a battle with a time-lost Apocalypse and his Horsemen in AVENGERS #3, Spidey and the others dealt with massive time warps in the city in AVENGERS #4, and their aftermath in AVENGERS #5.

The webslinger also joined a different team of Avengers, this one led by Luke Cage, in NEW AVENGERS #1 as the Eye of Agamotto appeared to the heroes and possessed Luke Cage. In NEW AVENGERS #2 the heroes battled demons raining from the sky. The Ancient One revealed himself to Iron Fist in NEW AVENGERS #3, everyone discussed the Eye’s true owner in NEW AVENGERS #4, and Spidey suggested Agamotto himself might want it back in NEW AVENGERS #5. Doctor Voodoo sacrificed himself to settle the matter in NEW AVENGERS #6, and the wallcrawler wondered why he didn’t get a paycheck in NEW AVENGERS #7.

What is Marvel Unlimited?

The Lizard evolved into a new version called Shed in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #630, clashed with Spider-Man in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #631, remembered his late son Billy in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #632, and disappeared in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #633. Our hero discovered the Kravinoffs were behind the recent gauntlet of villains in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #634, saw the original Kraven reborn in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #635, learned of Kaine’s death in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #636, and laid the whole mess at the Kravinoffs’ feet in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #637.

Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson reflected upon why they didn’t get married in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #638 and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #639, and how Spidey managed to make the world forget his secret identity in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #640 and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #641. Lily Hollister delivered her baby in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #642, spurring villains to try to snatch it for its Goblin blood in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #643. Spidey fought the Vulture and the Rhino for possession of the child in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #644, but the Chameleon absconded with it.

Later, after the wallcrawler defeated many of the villains in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #645, the Lizard proved Norman Osborn to not be the baby’s father in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #646. Spidey retrieved the baby to return it to its real father, Harry Osborn. Romanced bloomed for Peter in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #647 when he and Carlie Cooper finally shared a kiss and a hope for a continued relationship.
