The Office co-creator Greg Daniels has commented on the reported reboot of the popular American workplace comedy, saying NBC is excited about doing it and that it could be like the Star Wars TV show The Mandalorian in some ways.

Speaking to Collider, Daniels said NBC "certainly would be very excited to do it." What's holding it back for now, however, is Daniels' busy schedule. He is currently working on Space Force for Netflix and Upload for Amazon. Not only that, but Daniels said The Office was such a "wonderful and rare experience" that he would only want to return to it if the idea was special and worthwhile enough.

"Obviously you don't want to just go back to it and kind of possibly disappoint people when right now, they couldn't be happier about it," Daniels said.
