The Witcher dev hiring for two new RPGs

Polish studio CD Projekt Red seeking staffers for a brand-new intellectual property that may include guns, and a separate project in "mature dark-fantasy world."

The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red is currently at work on two all-new role-playing games--a new intellectual property and a project set in a "mature dark-fantasy universe"--according to job listings posted at the Polish developer's website.

As for the new intellectual property, a blog post on the firm's website indicates the new project will be a "vast role-playing game" that will be built from the ground up. The developer presently has nine open positions for this project, including calls for artists, animators, and programmers.

CD Projekt Red is teasing that the game will include guns in some fashion, a departure from the fantasy world it became known for with The Witcher. The job listings for this project use the image of a gun as a bullet point, and the blog post includes a line that reads, "And hell, no matter if it's with guns or swords, we're just having a good time here."

Concerning the new "mature dark-fantasy world" role-playing game at CD Projekt Red, firm details on this game are similarly thin. There are nine positions for this title currently available, including calls for a quest designer, animator, and cinematic artist.

This project may be a follow-up to 2011's The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, which notched warm review scores and sold more than 1.1 million copies on the PC alone. A line from the blog post indicates the title will be set in a universe that the developer has previously worked in and that's known for "dwarves, elves, and sorceresses"--a description applicable to the Witcher franchise.
