Wiz Khalifa will hit the stage at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards this Sunday!

Hope y'all had your fill of BBQ over the Memorial Day holiday! To ease you outta your food coma and back into the 9-to-5, Travis Porter makes it rain with their From Day 1 debut album, while 2:54 injects shoegaze and grooves into their debut mix. Quirky, awesome songstress Regina Spektor returns with her sixth album, Scissor Sisters soothe our broken disco hearts (RIP Robin Gibb and Donna Summer), and while we never know quite what Sigur Rós' Jónsi is singing about (and that's totes OK), the Icelanders release their dreamy, cinematic sixth studio album. The week caps off with the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, where fun. and Wiz Khalifa will perform and Russell Brand hosts.

NEW ALBUM RELEASES

Tuesday, May 29

+ Travis Porter From Day 1: The Decatur, GA rap trio's From Day 1 may be their debut album, but they've already had their song "Make It Rain" burn up two Billboard charts, thanks to their 2010 "I Am Travis Porter" mixtape. The song appears as a bonus track on their debut. Also check out new single, "Aww Yea," and their appearance on MTV's "Hip Hop POV."

+ Regina SpektorWhat We Saw From The Cheap Seats: Album opener "Small Town Moon" showcases her hallmark voice -- ranging from powerful to vulnerable and caterwauling to lilting falsetto syllables -- all in one song, while her quirky style is playful on songs such as "Don't Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas)."

Scissor Sisters, Magic Hour: With the world's recent loss of disco pioneers Robin Gibb and Donna Summer, it's soothing timing for the dance-pop mining Scissor Sisters (who owe a lot to disco's past) for their fourth album release. Check out the single "Only The Horses" and the spoke-sung, hypnotically rhythmic "Let's Have A Kiki" (which singer Ana Matronic explains is "a party for calming your nerves").

Check out more new album releases and upcoming TV appearances and performances after the jump.

+ 2:54 2:54: The Thurlow sisters were blowing minds well before their debut album. On their self-titled debut, it's easy to see why -- from "You're Early," with its hazy, dark melodies and Colette's ethereal, yearning singing to the rhythmic, haunting "Revolving." There's also "Creeping," which is awash in guitar squalls and countermelodies, courtesy of ass-kicky axe woman, Hannah. These go to 11.

+ Sigur RósValtari: Iceland's Jonsí and company capture an otherwordly vibe on their gorgeous sixth studio album. Like their homeland, it's moodily atmospheric with songs about...well, who knows when Jónsi sings in a language of his own creation. We like to imagine it's set in a magical and majestic place where unicorns frolic ("Varuð") and hypnotic soundscapes ebb and flow with each rolling tide ("Ekki múkk").

+ Kat GrahamAgainst The Wall EP: Kat Graham is known for steaming up the already-steamy "Vampire Diaries"; she now adds heating up the dance floor with her debut EP to her accomplishments, and incidentally she's also sporting a new hairstyle. The set is available exclusively through iTunes for now.

+ The WalkmenHeaven: It's the band's 10th anniversary and with it comes their seventh album. The Walkmen have always been solid song-crafters and a decade in, they've put out their best album yet with some retro touchstones. Check out the calypso roll of "Love is Luck," and the wholly infectious, poignant "Heartbreaker."
