Watch New Trailer For Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void

Today at Blizzcon, Blizzard Entertainment released a new trailer for Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void, the conclusion in the Starcraft II trilogy, following Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm. Blizzard also confirmed today that the game will be available as a standalone title, meaning you won't need to own either of the past games to play it.

Legacy of the Void features new single-player campaign missions, as well as a brand new cooperative mode called Archon Mode, where two players share control of a single base and units. Another new gameplay mode, called Allied Commanders, was also revealed today during Blizzcon. In this mode, players will team up to take on various objective-based missions.

Here is how Blizzard sets up the story for Legacy of the Void:

"Protoss legends Artanis and Zeratul attempt to unite their race in an intergalactic fight for survival against an ancient evil from the Void that threatens the universe. The fates of Terran hero Jim Raynor and Kerrigan, the Queen of Blades, also hang in the balance."

Blizzard has not yet announced a release date for Legacy of the Void, though you can sign up for the game's beta today at Battle.net.

Blizzcon began today and runs through tomorrow, November 8. The big announcement so far was Overwatch, a brand new team-based multiplayer shooter. Read more about that game here.
