Worlds Collide in a Brand New Podcast Just for Toy Fans – ‘The Legion Of DANS!’ #TFNY

LegionofDansLogoWhen a project starts with an email with the subject line “I’ve got a cockamamie idea…” you know it has to be good!

SECRET ORIGINS

This podcast was an idea that came to me late last year.   I’ve been in the action figure journalism biz for a long time, and there are a lot of guys also in the “biz” that I really admired.   Then I started to notice a pattern.   There were a handful of guys that held a lot of the same philosophies that I did about toys and collecting:  That it should be fun, that you should do it because you love it, and if it makes you angry or sad you should find a new hobby that makes you happy.

Then the pattern went deeper… all the people that I noticed had the same philosophy also had the same name… and it was the same as MY name.    It was then that the “Legion of Dans” was born!

I’m am truly honored to get to work on a project with these fine gentlemen, who’s work I have enjoyed so much over the years.    They are all experts in their own rights and all approach their love of the hobby in different ways.    You have most likely heard of all of them already, but on the off chance you haven’t make sure you check out the great work they do on their respective sites:

In this episode you get to know the “secret origins” of each of the Legion members and because it’s the start of Toy Fair 2015 we all talk about what we hope to see at the big show!

Our current thinking is that this will be a monthly podcast and each episode we will tackle a specific topic such as: “white whales,” toys you loved but never had and episode about certain toy lines.

We will have the episode up on iTunes soon so you can subscribe there when it’s ready.  In the meantime you can listen to the premiere episode right here.

Also be sure to check out the Legion of Dans Facebook page.   There you can chat with us, give us feedback and suggest topics for upcoming episodes.

Thanks for listening!
